Virender Sehwag was not included in the under-19 team, the coach was surprised to see Sehwag’s batting, then the coach kept a match Delhi State Under-19 team vs Jamia XI, got the first and last chance of Sehwag in that match to prove himself. Sehwag did not let this opportunity go and scored more than 140 runs while batting in his explosive style in that match, after watching this innings, the selector selected him in the Delhi cricket team in the year 1997, he got his first-class cricket. He stepped up to play in the under-19 team in the year 1998. He had the opportunity to wear the jersey of the Indian team for the year 1999 and the date was April 1, his ODI debut was against Pakistan, but due to poor Sehwag’s performance in that match, he Dropped from the team, Sehwag got a chance again in 2000 against Zimbabwe but he was not selected in the playing 11 Sehwag first century came against Newzealand in 2001.
In the year 2004, he played a record inning of 300 runs in the Test match against Pakistan at the same ground, the first Indians to become 300 runs. Virender Sehwag has also been a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup win. In April 2008, he played a record inning of 319 runs in the first innings of the first Test against South Africa. In the 2011 World Cup, Sehwag revenged the previous World Cup loss to Bangladesh and scored 175 runs and who can forget the 2011 World Cup On 8 December this year, in the ODI match against West Indies, Sehwag played brilliant innings of 219 runs, He was Sehwag, due to which the spectators were sitting in front of the TV to watch the Test match, his style of batting was different from the rest of the batsmen whether Test or ODI or T20, Sehwag was always batting in his style. Sehwag married Aarti Ahlawat in April 2004. They have two children, the first Aryavir was born on October 18, 2007, and the second Vedanta was born in the year 2010, Sehwag knew each other for 17 years before marriage to his wife Aarti.
