Gautam Gambhir was born on 14 October 1981 in Delhi, Gautam Gambhir is also a politician, he has done his school in Modern School from New Delhi and College is from Hindu College New Delhi, Gautam Gambhir is a graduate.
Gambhir lived with his grandparents since childhood and later on started studying with his maternal uncle, Gautam started playing along with serious studies, Gautam maternal uncle got Gautam admitted to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Cricket Academy in Delhi.

He made his first Test century against Bangladesh in the year 2004 and his first ODI century against Sri Lanka in 2005.
